PhotoBite: Simple and fresh lunch grub at Gram and Papa's
Today's PhotoBite is from a recent lunch at Gram and Papa's in downtown L.A.
The food:
- grilled chicken salad sandwich with heirloom tomatoes and iceberg lettuce on a fresh pretzel bun ($9, pictured above)
- gram and papa's chopped salad: kenter farm premium salad mix, house-roasted turkey breast, carrots, beets, goat cheese, dried sour cherries, candied walnuts, vinaigrette ($8 half, $10 full, pictured below)
- new sandwich from Chef Ludo Lefebvre, Ludo's Parisian Sandwich: imported Paris ham, emmenthal cheese, honey butter, cornichon and radish on a toasted baguette ($10.50, limited menu item, pictured below)
- salty goodness side: house-made potato chips (pictured at bottom)
- everything is freshly made to order; salads can be customized
- Gram & Papa's philosophy is to use carefully-sourced and fresh ingredients -- and it shows
- huge portions (we split two sandwiches and a full salad, took half our sandwich home, and left stuffed, but ordered so much because of a 30% BlackboardEats discount -- seriously, if you haven't signed up for BBE yet, get on over there!)
- worth-going-back rating: definitely.
